These stunning plants bring colour and vibrancy to any garden. We stock
a wide selection of herbaceous perennials and alpines to suit a variety
of garden situations.
Herbaceous Perennials
Herbaceous perennial plants are the mainstay to any traditional English garden and are very easy to establish. They can be planted at any time of the year and provide height, colour and impact throughout the summer and autumn months. We can advise on planting schemes and ways in which to get the best out of your plants. Herbaceous plants are best planted in a mixed border so that you achieve colour and texture all season long. These plants provide essential food to bees and other pollinating insects that help the natural environment and can be located within the RHS Pollinators Plant list.
Some of the more popular herbaceous perennials that we stock include Helenium, Echinacea, Eryngium, Salvias, Echinops, Phlox, Delphinium, Sedum, Astrantia, Nepeta, Scabiosa, Lamprocapnos, Centaurea, Penstemon, to name just a few.
Alpines
Alpines are ideal for smaller gardens and their innate beauty is
revealed close up. They like an open sunny site on free-draining soils
and don’t like being waterlogged. They are ideal for filling gaps in
walls and paving areas and can also be used in containers. Some alpines
like Sempervivums and Sedums can survive without frequent watering and
are perfect for areas that don’t receive much attention.
Some of the more popular alpine plants we stock include Helianthemum,
Saxifraga, Aubretia, Phlox, Dianthus, Campanula, Alyssum, Erysimum,
Anemone, Pulsatilla, Iberis, Artemesia, to name just a few.
